Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patients feel comfortable and at ease during examinations
  • Properly sterilize dental instruments
  • Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history
  • Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
  • Clean and protect patients' teeth, including removing plaque and applying fluoride
  • Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care, including demonstrating good brushing techniques
  • Provide instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
  • Take X-rays or dental impressions
  • Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases, including oral cancer
  • Maintain accurate documentation and charts on each patient
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession, including HIPAA
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A patient and friendly personality
  • Attention to detail
  • Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene
  • Active engagement in dental hygiene practice for at least 500 hours in each of the 2 years immediately preceding the Affiliated Practice Relationship
  • Valid license to practice
  • Spanish language skills a definite plus
