Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team at Trinity Health in Clifton Park. As a key member of our OBGYN department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs, documenting all necessary health information into the electronic medical record.
  • Respond to patient concerns and referrals, obtaining pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Follow proper protocol for collection and delivery of specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Participate in all required meetings and practice huddles, staying informed and engaged with our team.
  • Complete incoming patient forms and ensure they are scanned into the electronic medical record, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Use Universal Precautions with all encounters, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Document all exposure incidents per St Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates policy, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Notify physicians regarding patients in need of intervention, facilitating timely and effective care.
  • Ensure patient exam rooms are stocked and cleaned at all times, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Follow office protocol to ensure adequate supplies are ordered and stocked, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.
  • Perform office testing with appropriate training and within scope of practice, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Handle medical waste and educational materials with electronic copies of medical records, maintaining confidentiality and security.
  • Perform front-end functions to ensure achievement of established revenue cycle metrics, consistent with excellence standards and practice workflows.
  • General duties including but not limited to: document processing, scanning, inbox monitoring, and compliance with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care delivery model.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality patient care at all times, fostering a culture of collaboration and respect.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, managers, and others, promoting open and transparent communication.
  • Adhere to St Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates employment guidelines and policies and procedures at all times, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Adhere to St Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates Code of Conduct in performance of all job duties, upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
  • Obtain and maintain medical assistant certification according to MA certification policy, ensuring ongoing education and professional development.
  • Cross-cover other areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, embracing a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program
  • Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA
  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency, at least 10 months' work and/or clinical training experience in the healthcare field, proficient in obtaining manual vital signs, experience using an electronic health record system, commitment to confidentiality and respect, ability to obtain and record patient data, including prior health history, family history, allergies, current medications, current complaints, health screening questionnaires, knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology, experience assisting physicians, nurses, or other healthcare providers in performing clinical tasks and procedures, ability to provide patients with information related to their health and wellness.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program
  • Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA
What You Will Do

As a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN, you will administer nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Professional, assisting with treatments and procedures and carrying out selected duties within the framework of the established nursing plan of care. You will consistently take accurate vital signs, accurately collect routine patient data per protocols and/or as directed by the clinical supervisor, recognize high-risk situations and report them to the clinical supervisor, make suggestions as to referrals to other disciplines, fulfill protocols or clinical guidelines in establishing workflow priorities, demonstrate acceptable technical skills in providing care, follow standards of care, established protocols, or clinical guidelines in providing patient care, follow infection control policies in administering care, provide patient care in consideration of age-related requirements, reinforce patient and family teaching, administer medications safely in accordance with relevant unit policies and procedures, demonstrate ability to accurately transcribe physician orders, demonstrate a working knowledge of computer skills relevant to the care area, demonstrate initiative and flexibility with assignments, and function as a team member in carrying out assignments.

  • A current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of New York
  • Graduate of accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • High School diploma / GED required
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
