Skilled Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Potters Industries Inc is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to perform ongoing maintenance, upkeep, and repairs on plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct all processes in a safe manner and adhere to HSE rules and regulations;
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance on glass furnace specific plant equipment;
- Troubleshoot, repair and replace VFDs as needed;
- Operate in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations;
- Participate in plant wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives;
- Voluntarily participate on the Safety Team on a rotating basis;
- Communicate, promote and personally demonstrate Safety/Health as the #1 priority;
- Complete HSE training requirements for the job timely;
- Follow plant safety rules and wear required PPE;
- Report all injuries, illnesses, or incidents immediately or as soon as it's safe to do so;
- Come to work Fit for Duty and be focused on working safely;
- Understand and support Potters Industries Inc Essentials Behavioral and Operational Principals;
- Practice good housekeeping and assist with other housekeeping tasks as directed;
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED
Desired Level: Instrumentation and Electromechanical Technical School Degree, Journeyman Metal fabrication or Equivalent Experience
Experience:
- 10-15 years experience in maintenance or metal fabrication in a Glass Container Furnace Plant
- 3 to 5 years forklift operations and/or certification preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting and Lockout/Tagout of industrial;
- Basic skills in areas of industrial instrumentation and electomechanical equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repairs, instrument calibration, running conduit, terminating wires, reading drawings, pipe fitting, metal fabrication (including welding), and proper use of mechanical tools.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Detail and Organizational Skills
Training Certification/Registrations:
- Forklift certification preferred
