Job Description

As a Group Lead for HPC Services, you'll have the opportunity to lead a collaborative team that leverages automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing to deliver AI and HPC services to MITRE organizations and their sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Linux HPC systems administrators in purchasing, deploying, and maintaining HPC hardware and user tools for over 800 MITRE employees across multiple systems.
  • Collaborate with projects across MITRE to build and support computing environments for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, and more.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Provide technical project oversight and leadership on major IT infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Linux systems administration experience (15+ years)
  • HPC systems administration experience (5+ years)
  • Experience in project management and team leadership (5+ years)
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU hardware and integration into HPC and AI workflows
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in configuration management and automation tools such as Git, Ansible, or Chef
  • Hands-on experience with basic computer networking and routing, including troubleshooting basic internet protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD experience preferred
  • Proficiency in using cluster management tools such as Bright or NVIDIA Base Command Manager
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA DGX systems, including DGX H100, and integration into HPC and AI workflows
  • Desired experience as a team lead or similar role in AI or related field
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and data privacy considerations in AI development and deployment
