Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to patients, including assessing nutritional needs and developing personalized care plans.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure accurate and timely nutrition care, including ordering and documenting nutrition interventions.
- Lead and supervise the nutritional therapy support team, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to standards.
- Teach and mentor dietetic interns, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the program.
- Develop and present educational programs for healthcare professionals, patients, and community groups, promoting nutrition education and awareness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensure through the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians required.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and patients.
The Clinical Nutritionist will work primarily in patient care units, with occasional office, classroom, and meeting room work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
Skills and Abilities- Ability to speak in front of a group and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet established goals and objectives.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document patient care and communicate with the medical team.
