Pye-Barker Fire & Safety Careers is seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems for fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain piping systems composed of various materials, including pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
- Consult and interpret blueprints, work orders, and schematics to create working procedures based on specifications.
- Gather equipment and materials for the job, ensuring timely completion and quality workmanship.
- Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes to ensure proper connections and safety.
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cutting or boring holes as necessary.
- Install insulation and pipe covering, safely removing and discarding old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and regulations.
- Inspect pipes for pressure and leaks, reporting and resolving problems promptly.
- Coordinate with management to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
- Comply with safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices, maintaining accurate records and safety logs.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, with vocational training or relevant experience desired.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints, as well as use various tools, including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
