This role is crucial in ensuring precise and effective laboratory testing protocols, adhering to established safety standards, and working closely with medical professionals to provide prompt and high-quality diagnostic services.

The Laboratory Operations Supervisor is essential in maintaining an efficient workflow and supporting the organization's dedication to superior patient care.


Responsibilities:

Evaluates laboratory test results in progress by analyzing samples and assessing patient specimens for specific health conditions or genetic disorders.

Ensures that new specimens are received, cataloged, and dispatched to the appropriate clinical laboratory scientists.

Oversees daily laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to quality and production benchmarks while addressing client service concerns to maintain operational excellence and satisfaction.

Completes mandatory annual competencies for testing systems and supervises staff's timely completion of competencies, providing necessary training and corrective measures to uphold laboratory quality and regulatory standards.

Manages quality control and assurance protocols to maintain the functionality of equipment and testing systems, ensuring reliable results.

Optimizes staffing and supply inventory within budgetary limits to guarantee effective resource management.

Conducts and supervises testing procedures across all stages (pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical) in accordance with established protocols, ensuring consistent and accurate results to support patient care and diagnosis.

Offers comprehensive support to staff, assisting with procedures, troubleshooting, and problem resolution, while also providing training for both new and existing team members to foster professional development and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

Performs additional duties as required.



Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Required:
Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
Four years of laboratory experience in a high-complexity laboratory in a designated specialty or subspecialty.

Preferred:
Two to four years of supervisory or leadership experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/

LISTING: Required:

Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification from a recognized body upon hire.
