Position Overview:

The Senior Systems Engineer (Level 3) is pivotal in the evaluation, design, development, and integration of intricate hardware and software systems. This role is essential for maintaining the technical quality of deliverables within the Systems Engineering field. The individual will collaborate with stakeholders, offer technical leadership, and assist in the creation of detailed system engineering documentation. This position requires a highly experienced professional with a robust background in systems engineering, project planning, and leadership in compliance with established standards and frameworks.

Compensation: $195-225K

Work Environment: On-site role

Essential Skills & Experience:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess user requirements and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development initiatives, providing technical guidance for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Assist users in formulating requirements, recommend alternative solutions, and conduct feasibility analyses.
  • Maintain and develop system architecture and design documentation.
  • Incorporate new designs and systems into existing operations.
  • Provide technical direction for the engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Contribute to the development of system engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans and Requirements Specifications.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings and design reviews.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on comprehensive operational considerations.
  • Manage real-time process budgets and error budgets for system components.
  • Generate alternative system concepts and design solutions.
  • Develop scenarios and an Operational Concept detailing interactions between the system, user, and environment.
  • Evaluate program risks, determine their likelihood, and quantify potential consequences through an approved risk management plan.
  • Establish formal procedures for coordinating system integration activities among various teams.
  • Implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
  • Support the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and other relevant government certification processes.
  • Stay informed of current and evolving standards applicable to system development.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in similar programs and contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering initiatives.
  • Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Top Secret Clearance/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
