This position is crucial in fostering an environment conducive to the management and delivery of safe patient care. Beyond the responsibilities of a clinical nurse, the Lead Nursing Professional serves as a mentor and guide to team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge base. This role involves providing nursing care to a diverse patient demographic while performing essential tasks such as nursing assessments, assisting with examinations and treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Exemplifies effective leadership by engaging with staff through active listening, encouraging feedback, and making fair decisions that align with organizational objectives. Anticipates the needs of team members and offers support proactively. Demonstrates interprofessional communication skills, assisting staff with stress management as necessary.
- Acts as a mentor and resource for unit personnel, overseeing students and new employees during their onboarding process. Identifies and addresses organizational conflicts using effective resolution strategies.
- Promotes patient and family-centered care standards and mentors others on specialty populations, ensuring adherence to cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
Quality and Safety Initiatives
- Models care standards related to the nursing process and actively participates in improving nurse-sensitive quality indicators and patient safety goals. Engages in continuous improvement efforts by promoting situational awareness and assisting with necessary audits.
- Coordinates nursing care throughout shifts, considering patient acuity and staff capabilities to meet patient needs effectively. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and professional practice standards.
- Facilitates seamless patient flow within the department, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of care plans while coaching staff on best practices.
Financial Management
- Implements departmental strategies to meet financial targets, mentoring others in efficient documentation and resource utilization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 24 months of clinical nursing experience demonstrating progressive leadership capabilities.
Licenses and Certifications Required

- BLS certification from an accredited provider.
