Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with care team members to ensure consistency and quality of care, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Perform a variety of basic patient care activities, including respiratory procedures, locomotion maintenance, functional activities, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and more.
- Assist registered nurses by gathering data on patient conditions, direct patient observation, and recording patient information.
- Prepare and administer medications to patients per policy and procedure, observing patient response and recording any unexpected reactions.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Participate in the training and orientation of other licensed practical nurses, associates, and care team members as directed.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy, maintaining confidentiality and expressing interest in patient progress.
- Perform general clerical duties and support service tasks as required by unit needs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from a school of practical nursing.
- Completion of NAPNES course.
- Licensed as a practical nurse by the state of Michigan.
