Role Summary:
The Regional Safety Manager plays a crucial role within our operations team, overseeing safety protocols for construction initiatives. This position is pivotal in establishing safety standards and ensuring compliance across key accounts. The manager will collaborate closely with site safety managers and site managers to address safety challenges and escalations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee safety performance and accountability within the designated region.
- Lead and mentor Site Safety Managers and site personnel to promote safe work practices.
- Develop and manage incident prevention strategies for the business unit.
- Enhance safety programs through collaboration with site leadership and safety teams.
- Act as the primary contact for customer safety programs and strategic discussions.
- Establish safety plans for new sites, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
- Engage in customer meetings and safety teams as necessary.
- Promote a culture of zero injuries across all levels of the organization.
- Assist in the creation and facilitation of training programs.
- Review safety documentation and evaluate program effectiveness through site inspections.
- Support incident investigations and assist with workers' compensation cases.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct safety and health assessments in work areas.
- Implement safety programs that align with regulatory and company standards.
- Perform jobsite inspections focusing on hazard identification.
- Coordinate safety meetings and training sessions for effective communication.
- Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance.
- Review job hazard analyses for major work phases.
- Assist in developing safety reports as required.
- Support project leadership in incident investigations.
- Drive safety recognition initiatives within the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in safety, health, or related fields preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in construction safety.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- OSHA 30 Construction certification required; 500/510 certifications preferred.
- BCSP Certification (CSP, ASP, or CHST) is a plus.
- Experience with unionized workforces is desirable.
- Familiarity with data center operations is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence behavior.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and foster high performance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software applications.
- Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
