Radiology Technician II

The Interventional Radiology Technologist II plays a crucial role in the diagnostic imaging process, assisting physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This position requires a high level of technical competence, patient care skills, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
- Explains procedures: Clearly explain the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Prioritizes workflow: Prioritize workflow in regard to patient condition and ensure patients' arrival and departure occur in a timely manner.
- Provides a conducive atmosphere: Provide an atmosphere conducive to gain the patient's cooperation and confidence.
- Improves patient care: Utilize data received from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities to improve and participates in the planning and improvement process.
- Follows OSHA regulations: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.
- Cleans examination surfaces: Cleans examination surfaces between patients.
- Provides clean linen: Provides clean linen including sheets, gowns, pillowcases, and towels.
- Immediately cleans spills: Immediately cleans spills following universal precautions.
- Properly stores equipment: Properly stores accessory equipment when not in use.
- Works within a team: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
- Shares and initiates communication: Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers.
- Facilitates staff meetings: Facilitates and participates in regular staff meetings.
- Follows routine standards: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.
- Maintains sterile equipment: Maintains sterile equipment and fields.
- Adjusts cameras: Adjusts cameras to obtain the proper density and contrast.
- Performs quality control: Performs any necessary warm-up and quality control procedures on the equipment.
- Critiques images: Critiques images for quality and makes necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary.
- Education: High School or GED required. 2 Year Associate Degree preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of previous Interventional Radiology experience.
- Licensure: Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiology - RT(R) - Required.
- Certifications: Certified and registered by ARRT in Cardiovascular Interventional or Vascular Interventional - RT(R)(CV) or RT(R)(VI) - Preferred.
