About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MK2 EGSE Lead Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of EGSE systems for our Blue Moon MK2 Lunar Lander spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to design, acquire, build, test, and certify all EGSE components and integrated systems required to power-on and test the electrical systems of the spacecraft.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers, technicians, customers, Blue Origin teammates, Lunar Lander National Team partners, and aerospace test facility operators across the USA to ensure seamless integration and testing of EGSE systems.
  • Develop and implement EGSE systems that meet or exceed industry test standards, such as SMC-S-016.
  • Work closely with the SLD director of integration and test to ensure EGSE systems are properly integrated and tested.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the EGSE team to ensure successful completion of projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience designing, testing, troubleshooting, and operating spacecraft EGSE systems.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Familiarity with industry test standards such as SMC-S-016.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or an equivalent related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing, developing, building, and deploying flight hardware and/or ground support equipment for a large spaceflight program.
  • Experience on NASA programs and human spaceflight programs.
  • Experience leading system-level test campaigns on large spacecraft.
  • Experience with scripting (Python or other scripting language).
  • Experience with software tools such as DOORS Next Generation, Cameo, MATLAB/Simulink, Confluence, JIRA, Git, Creo, and Windchill.

At Blue Origin, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $153,636.00-$215,090.40, depending on location.
