Job Title: Front Desk Associate

At Exceptional Health Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Front Desk Associate to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Treat all patients and colleagues with dignity and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and vendors, providing clear and concise information.
  • Handle a fast-paced environment with poise and professionalism, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Stand and greet patients and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, setting the tone for a positive experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe HIPAA compliance, ensuring the protection of sensitive patient information.
  • Register patients in a timely and concierge manner, adhering to EMTALA compliance and ensuring accurate and complete information.
  • Obtain necessary patient demographics, financial information, and consents, verifying insurance plans and benefits.
  • Process payments and communicate with the Central Billing Office to resolve errors, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  • Perform patient status changes as directed by clinical staff, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Maintain patient charts, including creating files, scanning documents, and auditing charts for completeness.
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls, providing clear and concise information to patients and visitors.
  • Facilitate deposits and cash reconciliations during shift change, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate spreadsheets and patient logs, providing valuable insights and data for the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the team.
Qualifications:
  • Previous Emergency Room (ER) experience and/or Patient Registrar experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance identification and terminology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of insurance verification and benefit descriptions is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Admission Notifications and Insurance Authorizations is required.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology is essential.
  • Strong Organization Skills and Proficient Computer Skills are required.
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service Skills are essential.
  • Current Background Clearance and Satisfactory Background Check Results are required.
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Commitment to Patient and Family Satisfaction is essential.
