About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer II/III to join our Product Development team at SUSS MicroTec, Inc. in Williston, Vermont.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate design concepts, diagrams, layouts, detail, and assembly drawings
  • Calculate appropriate dimensions and tolerances
  • Review and modify designs for efficient manufacturability
  • CAD & Bill of Materials creation and maintenance with SolidWorks & SAP
  • Qualify designs through FEA/CFD analysis and empirical testing
  • Support prototype builds and functional tests
  • Work within the requirements of internal product development processes including participation in design/project reviews
  • Work and coordinate with SUSS colleagues around the world
Requirements
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant technical degree)
  • Three (plus) years of design engineering of precision machinery
  • Fundamental knowledge of electro-mechanical systems (pneumatics a plus)
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes
  • Thorough knowledge of geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and ANSI Y.14 standards (ISO a plus)
  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
  • Experience with analysis tools a plus, preferably SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) and SolidWorks Flow Simulation (CFD)
  • Experience with ERP and PLM systems for document, material, BOM and revisions - preferably SAP
  • Knowledge of SemiSpec standards a plus
  • Domestic and international travel up to 10%
