We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department on swing shift. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working closely with our veterinarians to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Triage and provide care for patients presenting to and hospitalized in our Emergency and Critical Care Department
- Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Complete patient daily treatments in a timely manner at key treatment times
- Assess hospitalized patients, using intuitive skills as a Technician
- Assist with flow and organization of Emergency and Critical Care department
- Obtain and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- General nursing care and treatment of patients
- Administering and monitoring anesthesia
- Assisting the veterinarian in procedures
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Client communication and education
- Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician
- Several years of related job experience
