Position Overview: The Financial Operations Manager will oversee the comprehensive management of deposits and the entire receivables domain, including Fixed Assets. This role involves capturing all revenue streams, reconciling Development Reports with the general ledger, and managing accounting processes related to ticketing and revenue recording.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the accounting team through continuous evaluation and training, while also providing backup support for all direct report functions.
  • Monitor ticketing and donation transactions, and prepare monthly journal entries for contributions and deferred ticket revenue.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of Development Weekly Reports with the general ledger on a monthly basis and prepare summary reconciliation reports.
  • Act as a liaison for accounting matters related to ticketing and development departments.
  • Reconcile all contribution receivable balances in the general ledger with the database and maintain schedules for year-end audits.
  • Prepare journal entries to transition future receivables to current status and manage the release of contribution restrictions.
  • Supervise daily cash activities, including deposit functions and journal entry approvals.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations for all cash accounts, monitor associated fees, and prepare necessary journal entries and adjustments.
  • Calculate and prepare schedules for monthly swap and bond interest payments, including related journal entries and expense monitoring.
  • Oversee credit card processing, including bank reconciliations, chargeback investigations, and fee forecasting.
  • Review and approve monthly journal entries for store operations, including sales tax returns and related reconciliations.
  • Supervise the preparation of regulated reporting, including sales/use tax and amusement tax returns.
  • Manage Fixed Asset record processes, including acquisition, disposal, and depreciation journal entries.
  • Analyze activity related to partnerships and prepare relevant journal entries while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review and approve various invoices and related journal entries, ensuring accurate revenue and expense capture.
  • Supervise accounts receivable reconciliations and prepare year-end audit schedules.
  • Assist in the audit process by coordinating and reviewing financial documentation and narratives.
  • Prepare annual filings related to unclaimed property and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year degree in accounting is required.
  • A minimum of five years of accounting experience is essential, with two years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and automated reconciliation processes is advantageous.
