The Asset Protection Specialist role is a full-time position dedicated to safeguarding assets, property, and personnel through effective prevention, surveillance, and apprehension strategies.
This role reports directly to the Asset Protection Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the digital Closed Circuit Television system to monitor customer activities and observe behavior on the sales floor. Engage with suspected shoplifters in alignment with store protocols, conduct searches, and perform interviews. Document incidents and provide testimony in legal proceedings.
Participate in safety assessments and ensure adherence to safety regulations. Act as the first responder for emergencies requiring First Aid and CPR. Facilitate the transfer of essential items between store locations, including mail services. Uphold the principles of the customer service program.
Complete additional tasks as assigned.Qualifications and Skills:
Detail-oriented with an organized approach to responsibilities. A proactive self-starter with the ability to exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Successful candidates will be required to obtain employer-provided certification post-hire. Completion of first-aid/CPR training is mandatory within 30 days of employment. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have no felony convictions for certification eligibility. A criminal background and credit check will be performed. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.Demonstrated reliability, attendance, and initiative in previous roles are crucial.
Work Schedule:
Availability required Monday through Friday during store hours, with weekends as needed. Extended hours may be necessary during events, including home football game days. The schedule may adjust based on departmental and seasonal requirements.
Compensation:
The hourly wage is $18.00, with potential increases upon achieving necessary certifications and completing the introductory period.
Benefits:
After completing the waiting periods, benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave; a 401(k) retirement plan; merchandise discounts; employee assistance programs; and an associate ID.
