Job Overview

As a Rental Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering and retrieving equipment and supplies to and from customer job sites using vehicles with a gross weight of less than 26,000 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and secure equipment effectively.
  • Transport equipment and supplies over long distances.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage to customers upon delivery.
  • Service equipment as necessary to maintain optimal operating conditions at job sites.
  • Communicate equipment issues clearly with customers and the Service Manager to ensure satisfaction.
  • Refuel equipment on-site as required.
  • Conduct safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Keep the work vehicle clean and well-maintained to ensure safety.
  • Adhere to all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety standards.
  • Complete inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, including log books and trip sheets in compliance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers and present information effectively.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify issues and determine solutions.
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and hauling are essential.
  • Must possess and safely use mechanic's tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with delivery areas and safety requirements for equipment handling is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays.

The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, as well as working indoors and outdoors as necessary.
