Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist PRN to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing complex imaging procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients and their families, ensuring they understand the imaging process and any necessary preparations.
  • Image the correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols.
  • Perform complex procedures, taking into account age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
  • Assist radiologists with invasive procedures, using aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.
  • Correctly send and transfer images to our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure high-quality images are printed as needed.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Monitor patients with medical devices, such as IVs, oxygen, and chest tubes, during imaging procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved or accredited Ultrasound Program preferred.
  • Associate Degree preferred.
  • Two years of clinical experience in a hospital radiology setting preferred.
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required prior to providing independent patient care.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Sonography certification or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers) certification required, with two certifications upon hire.
  • Other RVT or VT(RVS) certifications may be required for vascular sonography.
