Position Overview:
The Nursing Director plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality healthcare services by overseeing nursing operations and ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations. This position requires a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) who is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient needs, including necessary evaluations at specified intervals.
2. Develop and adjust care plans as required to meet patient objectives.
3. Deliver specialized nursing services and treatments that necessitate advanced nursing skills.
4. Educate patients and their families about healthcare needs and promote understanding of treatment plans.
5. Facilitate patient and family education to support progress towards healthcare goals.
6. Implement preventative and rehabilitative nursing measures.
7. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation reflecting patient progress.
8. Coordinate referrals to additional services as needed.
9. Communicate changes in patient conditions to physicians and team members.
10. Assess the effectiveness of care outcomes.
11. Assign home health aides to patients as appropriate.
12. Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives.
13. Ensure effective coordination of services and discharge planning.
14. Engage in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
15. Uphold accepted nursing standards and practices.
16. Utilize clinical judgment to manage patient care efficiently.
17. Supervise LPNs and support staff.
18. Access and handle personal health information (PHI) in accordance with regulations.
19. Adhere to attendance policies and maintain professional conduct in the workplace.
20. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate from an accredited nursing program with an active RN license in good standing.
2. Preferably possess a minimum of 1200 hours of RN experience within the past year.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Current CPR certification.
2. Proficient communication skills in English across diverse workforce levels.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
4. Capable of interpreting technical care instructions.
5. Skilled in patient observation and assessment.
6. Adaptable to changing patient needs and schedules.
7. Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance may be required for specific assignments.
Work Environment:
1. Frequent local travel between assignments.
2. Work primarily conducted in various patient settings.
3. Exposure to health risks associated with patient care, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
4. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting patients as needed.
Compensation:
Annual salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
