Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and interior projects.
  • Analyze project documentation, including drawings and specifications, to understand scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and ensure cost-effective project execution.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing agreements.
  • Develop and maintain databases for material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Monitor cost trends, market conditions, and material pricing to provide accurate estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Expertise in preparing estimates for commercial or high-end interior fit-outs in Manhattan or other major urban areas.
  • Proficiency in reading architectural plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of local construction costs, labor markets, and material pricing.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
