Key Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and interior projects.
- Analyze project documentation, including drawings and specifications, to understand scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing agreements.
- Develop and maintain databases for material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Monitor cost trends, market conditions, and material pricing to provide accurate estimates.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- 5+ years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
- Expertise in preparing estimates for commercial or high-end interior fit-outs in Manhattan or other major urban areas.
- Proficiency in reading architectural plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of local construction costs, labor markets, and material pricing.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
