Job Title: Senior Roadway Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Roadway Engineer to join our Carolinas Region team in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead or assist in the development of project designs, direct EIs and designers, and implement client-focused strategies. They will also calculate plan quantities, develop engineering estimates, and prepare reports, specifications, and designs for projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or assist in the development of project designs and direct EIs and designers to successfully execute and deliver project work.
  • Calculate plan quantities and develop engineering estimates, develop construction specifications, and coordinate with subconsultants.
  • Apply established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies, or standards.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
  • Work in a team environment to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projects and participate in business development efforts and meetings with clients.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 15 years relevant experience in roadway design.
  • Must have proven skills in meeting DOT expectations, schedules, and budgets.
  • Written communication skills.
  • NCDOT experience is preferred but not required.
  • PE is required.
  • Experienced in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications.
  • Proficient with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and/or Inroads.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
