Certified Nursing Assistant

PACS Inc is seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team in an evening shift position. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Job Summary:The Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents, as per their assessment and care plan. This includes administering treatments, serving meals, and performing various tasks as directed by supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify residents before administering treatments or serving meals using wristbands or photo cards.
- Use authorized abbreviations when recording information.
- Report changes in resident condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse promptly.
- Record entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, and other documents in an informative manner.
- Report accidents and incidents observed during the shift.
- Agree not to disclose resident protected health information and report suspected or known violations.
- Perform only nursing care procedures trained to do.
- Ensure resident rooms are ready for receiving residents.
- Greet residents and escort them to their rooms.
- Introduce residents to their roommates and other residents/personnel as appropriate.
- Make residents comfortable.
- Inventory and mark resident personal possessions as instructed.
- Store resident clothing.
- Assist residents with packing personal possessions when transferring to a new room or being discharged.
- Transport residents to new rooms or the receiving area.
- Assist with loading/unloading residents to/from vehicles as necessary.
- Create and maintain a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
- Meet with nursing personnel to identify and correct problem areas.
- Report resident complaints and grievances.
- Participate in and receive the nursing report as instructed.
- Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
- Make beds as instructed.
- Put extra covers on beds as requested.
- Measure and record temperatures, pulses, and respirations (TPRs) of residents as instructed.
- Ensure residents unable to call for help are checked frequently.
- Answer resident calls promptly.
- Check residents to ensure their personal care needs are being met.
- Assist residents with identifying food arrangements.
- Record resident food/fluid intake and report changes in eating habits.
- Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water.
- Perform after meal care.
- Participate in and receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Follow work assignments and schedules in completing tasks.
- Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel and other facility personnel to ensure nursing services meet resident needs.
- Notify the facility when late or absent from work.
- Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals.
- Assist residents with daily functions (dental and mouth care, bath functions, combing of hair, dressing, and undressing).
- Keep residents dry (change gown, clothing, and linens when wet or soiled).
- Assist residents in preparing for medical tests.
- Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
- Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
- Assist in preparing residents for physical examinations.
- Check residents to ensure their personal care needs are being met.
- Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns.
- Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears.
- Observe disoriented and comatose residents, record, and report data as instructed.
- Perform special treatments as instructed.
- Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any resident leaving/missing from the facility.
- Use only equipment trained to use.
- Report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
- Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
- Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
- Honor resident refusal of treatment requests and report such requests to supervisors.
- Must possess a minimum of a 10th-grade education.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- CPR certification.
