Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Advisor to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient utilization of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with medical staff leadership to develop expertise on matters related to physician practice patterns, resource utilization, and medical necessity.
  • Work closely with case management, social workers, and utilization review departments to develop and implement methods to optimize resource use and ensure quality of care.
  • Develop and implement care management protocols with physicians and other stakeholders to optimize length of stay and resource utilization.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including resource utilization and quality of care.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure that our electronic health record system supports best practice medicine.
Requirements
  • Unrestricted medical license in the state of New York.
  • Strong foundation in utilization management, quality improvement, and patient safety.
  • Working knowledge of our organization's case management operations and administrative standards and policies.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of electronic health records.
  • Familiarity with MCG/Interqual placement status criteria.
  • Physician Advisor Sub-specialty certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) preferred.
