Job Description

As a M3 Systems Administrator with General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' systems. Your expertise in Linux administration and security will be essential in providing top-notch support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide system administration support for Linux/Solaris operating systems, including installing software, applying patches, and managing file systems.
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system, servers, hardware, and applications software.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from monitoring tools.
  • Responsible for daily monitoring of interface programs between multiple enterprise systems.
  • Perform incremental and full cold backups/patching.
  • Setup backups for Linux and Oracle databases.
  • Responsible for DoD Linux Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Provide performance metrics and usage charts, including CPU usage, disk usage, and network uptime for the Linux Servers.
  • Provide general maintenance, upgrades, and new installation of servers and coordinate with data center personnel to execute.
  • Document and generate business processes for day-to-day and emergency support procedures.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Experience managing legacy Linux servers and cloud resources.
  • Highly versed in Linux administration and best practices.
  • Familiar with enterprise network architectures.
  • Experience with automated configuration management (Puppet, Chef, etc.).
  • Familiar in programming/scripting skills for automation - Bash, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.
  • General understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes, etc.).
  • General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS, etc.).
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Required Certification(s): DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract.

  • Strong understanding of Linux systems and security.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
