Patient Access Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at South East Alaska Regional Health Consortium. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and family members at the designated facility
Check patients in and out for appointments and schedule follow-up appointments as needed
Collect, verify, and enter demographic, financial, and/or insurance information into the electronic health record
Accept point-of-service payments and provide guidance for payment options
Perform insurance eligibility/benefit verification and coordinate benefits when multiple insurance carriers are presented
Maintain confidentiality of all verbal, written, and electronic forms of communication or information sharing
Provide administrative support, including managing phones, directing/answering patient questions, completing paperwork, and coordinating with referring providers and/or clinics
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred
One year of office experience or medical office experience preferred
Knowledge of general office functions, office equipment, and computer applications
Skills in data entry, time management, organization, and customer service
Ability to prioritize work and multitask in a fast-paced office setting
