The Affordable Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of Emmons Place Apartments, a 146-unit apartment community located in NW Portland's Alphabet District.

This dynamic position involves assisting in marketing efforts, maintaining property integrity, screening prospective residents, collecting rents, and preparing agreements. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.

We offer competitive compensation packages, including an estimated hourly rate of $18-$21/hour, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a monthly cell phone stipend, paid sick time, vacation, and nine paid holidays.

Responsibilities

The Affordable Assistant Manager is responsible for:

  • Assisting with daily property operations, including maintenance, repairs, and tenant services;
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, including rent collections and lease renewals;
  • Providing exceptional customer service to residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner;
  • Collaborating with other team members to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to increase resident satisfaction and retention;
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Six months of previous property management experience, preferably in a similar setting;
  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and vendors;
  • Basic math skills and the ability to perform bookkeeping tasks accurately;
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving;
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record;
  • Familiarity with landlord/tenant laws, State and Federal Labor Laws, and Fair Housing Laws.

Working Environment
