The International Mobility and Immigration Lead is tasked with overseeing the global mobility framework, which encompasses the relocation and immigration procedures for personnel.
Program Oversight:
Administer the global and domestic immigration frameworks and protocols.
Ensure that immigration initiatives align with broader organizational goals.
Supervise the comprehensive relocation process, including strategizing, coordinating, and executing.
Manage the experience of assignees and permanent transfers from initiation to completion.
Facilitate internal transfer prerequisites for international assignments and permanent relocations, such as payroll, benefits, and system updates.
Immigration and Regulatory Compliance:
Oversee immigration procedures and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborate with external legal advisors to manage visa applications, work permits, and residency documentation.
Offer insights on visa processing durations, sponsorship criteria, associated risks, and expenses for prospective candidates.
Maintain and audit the visa tracking system, ensuring timely initiation and submission of extensions.
Stay informed on updates in immigration legislation and regulations.
Conduct routine internal assessments and assist with special projects as required.
Employee Assistance:
Provide support and counsel to employees and their families throughout the relocation and assignment processes.
Address employee inquiries and challenges related to relocation and immigration.
Design and conduct pre-departure briefings for assignees.
Educate managers and employees on visa and green card application and renewal procedures.
Engage with employees and managers as necessary to discuss intricate visa matters, options to mitigate impacts on status, green card processes, etc.
Vendor Collaboration:
Collaborate with relocation service providers to manage domestic transfers and international relocations and assignments, including the creation and review of cost estimates and relocation documentation.
Work closely with external partners to ensure outstanding service delivery to employees while maximizing cost efficiencies.
Program Financial Management:
Assist in budget formulation for immigration and relocation initiatives.
Ensure that relocation expenditures are allocated to the correct business segment or unit.
Monitor financial and reimbursement processes for assignments.
Policy Development and Communication:
Communicate policies and procedures to employees and stakeholders effectively.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to develop and disseminate relocation packages, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
Manage and respond to visa-related escalations, strategizing solutions for denials, urgent requests, or regional complications.
Engage with internal stakeholders to proactively understand visa requirements for upcoming projects and operational needs.
Implement innovative strategies to enhance visa processing, including leveraging new technologies for efficient management with vendors, developing templates, and guidance documents.
Ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.Develop, update, and deliver training as necessary for HR, Talent Acquisition, and Regional Management Teams on best practices to ensure compliance across regions.
Reporting and Data Analysis:
Generate reports and analytics to monitor program performance and identify areas for enhancement.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data evaluations.
Maintain a dashboard of all mobility and immigration activities.
Oversee invoicing and financial reporting to global finance teams.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Work in partnership with regional and local HR and Talent Acquisition teams to address specific immigration and mobility requirements.
Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, legal, and finance teams to ensure a seamless relocation experience and to explore options for international moves and assignments.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop new strategies to streamline and enhance global processes.Establish and maintain strong relationships with key HR and business stakeholders.
Engage in mergers and acquisitions to review and implement strategies from an Immigration and Global Mobility perspective.
Education & Experience - Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree
Minimum Years of Experience Required: At least 7 years of immigration and Global Mobility experience within a global or multinational organization.
Experience in managing international relocations, assignments, and immigration processes.Knowledge of US and Global immigration laws and regulations.
Project management experience.
Other qualifications (e.g., certification, etc.):
Global Mobility Designation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Years of Experience Required: 5 years
International HR experience, particularly with assignments and managing assignees.
Experience in managing multiple country domestic relocation programs.
Knowledge of US and global immigration processes and tax compliance.
Other qualifications (e.g., certification, etc.):
Certification in Global Mobility or Immigration Law is advantageous.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of global mobility and immigration laws and regulations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Work independently while providing regular updates to senior management on progress, determining when to consult with senior leadership on complex situations, and providing recommendations for exceptions requiring approvals, budget forecasting, and reporting.
