Position Overview:

One Tech Engineering is seeking a dedicated Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist to oversee safety protocols in a construction setting. This role is pivotal in establishing and enforcing safety policies, ensuring a secure work environment for all personnel involved in heavy construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage safety and health initiatives on-site to ensure compliance with established safety standards.
  • Oversee the execution of the Site Safety & Health program, addressing any site-specific safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Conduct safety assessments and develop Activity Hazard Analyses in collaboration with project management.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Strive towards achieving the company’s goal of zero safety incidents through proactive management of safety programs.
  • Perform regular safety audits and reviews to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Act decisively to manage any immediate safety threats that may arise on-site.
  • Communicate safety concerns and resolutions effectively with project management and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and orientation to employees regarding safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the client’s Safety & Health Department to ensure alignment on safety measures.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and present updates on safety program performance to stakeholders.
  • Conduct investigations into safety incidents and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and records, ensuring they are audit-ready.
  • Guide and mentor junior safety staff, fostering a culture of safety awareness.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, an Associate Degree with 9 years of experience or a High School Diploma/GED with 11 years of experience in safety management.
  • Valid MSHA 48 Trainer Certificate.
  • Proficient understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate safety concepts effectively and conduct training sessions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle operation standards.
  • Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals within one year is required.
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Outreach Safety Training Course is mandatory.
