  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the broadcast newsgathering process
  • Researching and verifying information using public and private records databases
  • Supporting newsgathering teams in the field and providing leadership and guidance as needed
  • Thriving in fast-paced and time-critical situations
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to work on sensitive stories
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple news pieces with different deadlines
  • Managing ongoing relationships with external contributors, news outlets, and team members
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of producing experience in a professional newsroom
  • Degree or equivalent experience in broadcast journalism or a related field
  • Proven news judgment and experience chasing breaking news and booking entertainment figures
  • Detailed understanding of the broadcast newsgathering process
  • Strong research skills, including working with public and private records databases
  • Experience supporting newsgathering teams in the field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
