Job Summary

The Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the emergency department at Oroville Hospital. This role requires strong assessment and evaluation skills, as well as the ability to triage patients and render care according to hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, developing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Provide respiratory care, including respiratory treatments, oxygen delivery, and EKGs, in the absence of the respiratory therapist.
  • Receive and document patient reports from other hospital personnel and outside agencies in a timely and concise manner.
  • Promote harmonious relationships and favorable attitudes among the healthcare team.
  • Support and adhere to administrative and nursing department policies and procedures.
  • Act rapidly and effectively in emergency situations, managing self, patient, and other employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of California.
  • One year critical care experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • ACLS and PALS (Healthcare provider or Professional Certification required).
  • TNCC required within 18 months of hire.
Working Conditions

The Emergency Room Nurse works in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to blood-borne and airborne diseases. The role requires standing for extended periods, walking, and lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.
