We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supported Employment Specialist to join our team at the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with mental illness and other complex barriers to secure meaningful employment and educational opportunities.
Job Summary:The Supported Employment Specialist will work closely with clients to develop and implement individualized and integrated Supported Employment Service Plans. This will involve providing guidance and support to clients in obtaining their goals and assisting with eliminating significant barriers to employment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Supported Employment/Supported Education practices, social service resources, area employers, job development, workforce development, community outreach, and wrap-around services.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized Supported Employment Service Plans for clients
- Provide guidance and support to clients in obtaining their employment goals
- Assist clients in eliminating significant barriers to employment
- Work with clients to develop and implement job development and placement strategies
- Collaborate with community resources and employers to secure job opportunities for clients
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to clients in their employment roles
- Minimum 2 years of experience in human services, social work, or employment readiness
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- ACRE certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle
- FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances
