About the Role

Management and Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Detention Officer to join our team at the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility. As a Detention Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facility, ensuring the well-being of our residents, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Custody and Security: Ensure the safe and secure custody of non-citizens assigned to the facility, including conducting searches, supervising residents, and responding to emergencies.
  • Facility Operations: Assist with the daily operations of the facility, including maintaining order, enforcing rules and regulations, and providing support to other staff members.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, staff, and external partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to achieve our goals.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior correctional experience preferred but not required.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, climb stairs, and perform physical tasks as required.
