Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Neuroscience Trauma unit at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including those with brain and spinal cord injuries, strokes, seizures, and movement disorders.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical needs
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in their condition
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state licensure
- Experience working in an acute care setting, preferably in neuroscience or trauma care
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with similar patient populations in an acute care setting
- Academic health care experience
- Certification in specialty area
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances. The nurse must be able to lift 20-50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods.
