Conductor Trainee

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Conductor Trainee. As a key member of our Transportation Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight across our vast network.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain, receive, and act on information through various devices, including oral and written communication.
- Monitor and report daily work, including climbing on/off equipment, managing hand brakes, and interpreting signals for train movement.
- Operate track switches and derails to change train routing and check switch points for proper alignment.
- Conduct train and equipment inspections, including switching and spotting cars, determining train make-up, and inspecting cars per federal regulations.
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- At least 18 years of age or will be by the start date listed above.
- Ability to report for duty at the designated work location.
- Able to work safely in diverse and extreme weather conditions.
- Able to work the above shift/hours.
- Able to meet the above travel requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate (speak, hear, and understand) English.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to learn to identify, interpret, and use hand signals from near and far and visually judge the speed and distance of moving objects.
