Role Overview:
The Department of Chemistry at Tulane University is seeking a qualified candidate for a Lecturer position focused on General Chemistry instruction.

Position Summary:


The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Chemistry. Responsibilities will encompass overseeing General Chemistry laboratory sessions, which involve managing approximately 17 teaching assistants, as well as delivering lectures to a General Chemistry class of around 150 students.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate a strong record of effective teaching and mentorship at the undergraduate level, along with a dedication to student-centered education and enhancing diversity within the field of chemistry.

This Lecturer position is subject to renewal every three years initially, transitioning to a five-year renewal period upon promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Tulane University is a mid-sized private research institution with a vibrant community of approximately 8500 undergraduate students.

The Chemistry Department is part of the School of Science and Engineering, featuring 16 research faculty members, 4 teaching faculty members, around 60 graduate students, and approximately 80 undergraduate majors in Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry; prior teaching experience is preferred.
