Responsibilities
  • Data Assembly and Integration: Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
  • Data Infrastructure Development: Build and maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
  • Collaboration and Support: Work with business and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems and assist with data-related technical issues.
  • Process Optimization: Ensure timely processing of daily batch processes, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in Python and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, dask, polars, etc., as well as experience with Linux, shell scripting, Git, virtualization, and containerization via docker.
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with AWS cloud-based services, especially Athena, EC2, RDS, Lambda, and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
  • Data Warehousing: Experience with cloud-based data warehousing tools such as Redshift, Snowflake, etc.
  • Big Data Pipelines: Experience building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to be self-motivated and work with little supervision.
