Job Title: Unit Clerk

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Unit Clerk to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit. As a primary customer service role, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating administrative and logistic tasks arising from the regular clinical operations of the unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient movement to and from the unit, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient care delivery.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, responding to inquiries and escalating concerns to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Schedule patient discharge and post-discharge consultations, ensuring timely and effective care transitions.
  • Act as the primary service representative for the unit, maintaining a positive and professional image.
  • Monitor supply levels and order additional inventory as needed, ensuring a well-stocked and efficient unit environment.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to monitor patients and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Organize patient packets from the electronic medical recordkeeping system, ensuring accurate and timely discharge or transfer documentation.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience with common computer applications, including Microsoft Office or similar.
  • Preferred experience working with electronic medical recordkeeping systems, such as EPIC, and in a hospital setting.
