Job SummaryThis is a full-time opportunity for a Surgical Technologist to work in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgical team.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Setup: Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling and organizing instruments and supplies, ensuring good working order and reviewing case carts for correct items.
- Instrument Passing and Tissue Retraction: Anticipate the surgeon's needs, pass instruments, and retract tissue during surgical procedures.
- Aseptic Technique and Universal Precautions: Maintain aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure, disposing of sharps and trash, and placing used supplies in case carts for processing.
- OR Turnover and Cleaning: Assist with OR turnover between cases, participating in stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
- Training and Orientation: Participate in or lead the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.
- Education and Certification: High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification. Certified as a surgical technologist or two to three years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
- Skills and Abilities: Manual dexterity, ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful situations, and ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
- Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology is highly preferred. Additional related education and/or experience is also preferred.
