Position Summary
This position involves leading initiatives to improve the operational efficiency of the Engineering department while collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless coordination of metrics, dashboards, and cross-functional projects.
The role includes overseeing departmental planning and execution, focusing on professional activities within a technical domain. You will operate with a degree of independence while adhering to established policies and evaluating outcomes.
Flexibility in procedures and practices is permitted as long as the final results meet the required standards of quality, volume, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage engineering and technology projects.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper resource allocation.
- Ensure delivery of project scope within the original cost estimates.
- Manage schedules, budgets, and integration of New Product Introduction (NPI) and requisition projects, ensuring alignment with customer Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements and milestone achievements.
- Projects may be components of larger programs.
- Directly responsible for people management, including staffing and performance development.
- Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and analytical skills to implement policies and strategies.
- Understand best practices and how your area integrates with others, while being aware of competitive factors.
- Exercise judgment to propose alternative solutions for complex manufacturing processes.
- Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
- May lead small-scale projects with minimal risks and resource needs.
- Facilitate consensus among team members on relevant topics.
- Communicate performance expectations and address sensitive issues.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Systems or Software engineering.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.
- This role requires the use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions, and is only open to U.S. Citizens.
- Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven ability to analyze and resolve issues. Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs. Established project management capabilities.
