The Opportunity

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company, is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist - Biopharma Upstream Processes to optimize our Biopharma Production organization. This Bridgewater, NJ/Innovation Center role is full-time, on-site.

As a Research Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists focused on the development of new products. Your broad background in the biochemical sciences, hands-on experience, and knowledge of bioanalytical techniques will be essential in driving projects to completion and resolving challenges related to characterization of various molecules and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting hands-on bioanalytical testing for product/protein characterization, process optimization, and product commercialization.
  • Utilizing HPLC-based bioanalytical techniques to characterize proteins and/or peptides, antibodies, amino acids, and/or other materials.
  • Preparing reports, publications, and oral presentations to advance projects, resolve process/product issues, and customer complaints.

Requirements:

  • BS in biochemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in conducting hands-on bioanalytical testing, utilizing HPLC-based techniques, and preparing reports and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Researching, developing, and transferring bioanalytical and/or cell-based methods for intermediate and finished goods release testing and stability studies/shelf-life determination.
  • cGMP, Compendia, FDA, ICH/regulatory agency requirements.
  • Collaboration skills (Microsoft Office, ELN).
