We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support our client's operations in the food distribution sector.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to acquire practical experience in overseeing daily logistics functions, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the safe and precise distribution of food products to clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily logistics processes, including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment to guarantee timely and accurate delivery of food items.
- Supervise a team of warehouse personnel, drivers, and material handlers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines.
- Assist in monitoring stock levels, performing regular inventory counts, and managing product rotation to ensure the proper handling of perishable items (FIFO).
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and standards, including temperature management, hygiene practices, and appropriate storage methods.
- Coordinate delivery timelines and optimize transportation routes to achieve efficient distribution while minimizing costs and delivery delays.
- Promptly address operational challenges, such as delivery setbacks, inventory inconsistencies, or equipment issues, to reduce disruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of shipments, inventory, and equipment upkeep. Generate reports as necessary to assess performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including procurement, customer service, and production, to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or food distribution is advantageous.
