Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Red Bluff, CA. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of disturbances, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, holdups, vehicle accidents, and other criminal incidents.
  • Interview victims, complainants, witnesses, and suspects, gather and preserve evidence, and testify in court.
  • Administer first aid, contact and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies, and prepare reports of arrests made and investigations conducted.
  • Provide traffic control at vehicle accidents, special events, or other emergencies, and maintain contact with citizens regarding potential law enforcement problems.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and successful completion of a California POST accredited Police Academy.
  • Possession of a California POST Basic Police Academy Certificate.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the public and other employees, work and be responsible for an assigned area of responsibility, and analyze situations and adopt effective courses of action.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of department rules and regulations, criminal law, apprehension, arrest, and custody of persons committing misdemeanors and felonies.
