Christus Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialty Coder to join our team. As a remote opportunity, this position requires the candidate to reside in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Georgia.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract data into CHRISTUS Health electronic medical record systems with a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or better.
- Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to ICD-10-CM/PCS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
- Collaborate with various CHRISTUS Health departments, including HIM and Clinical Documentation Specialists, to ensure accurate and complete physician documentation.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards per chart type and maintain a high level of coding accuracy.
- Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- High school diploma or equivalent years of experience required.
- Completion of an Accredited Baccalaureate Health Informatics or Health Information Management program or an AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience preferred.
