Junior Cybersecurity Software Developer

TMC Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Development Engineer to join our team at the NOAA Cyber Security Center. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the modernization and transformation of our Security Operations Centers (SOC) capabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing several cyber security stack products, including Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR); Security Information and Event Management (SIEM); and other tools as assigned. You will also participate in activities to promote development and configuration automation, integrations with the enterprise Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) solution (ServiceNow), and improvement of system monitoring capabilities.
Additionally, you will serve as a liaison for professional services engagements, where available and as needed, to define and translate customer requirements. You will also be responsible for performing development on cybersecurity system components as assigned, developing integrations between cybersecurity stack components, and drafting and maintaining system design documentation.
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, and knowledge of development on classified systems and the required security guidelines associated with secure facilities. If you have experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, and are familiar with task automation, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement cyber security stack products, including SOAR and SIEM tools
- Participate in activities to promote development and configuration automation, integrations with ServiceNow, and improvement of system monitoring capabilities
- Serve as liaison for professional services engagements
- Perform development on cybersecurity system components as assigned
- Develop integrations between cybersecurity stack components
- Draft and maintain system design documentation
- US citizen with current active Top-Secret clearance required
- Software development and scripting skills in multiple disciplines (Python, Javascript, Powershell, etc.) required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and 0-2 years prior relevant experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
- Knowledge of development on classified systems and the required security guidelines associated with secure facilities
- Working knowledge of SIEM platforms (ArcSight, Elasticsearch, Splunk, etc.)
- Distributed event streaming platforms (Apache Kafka, Cloudera, Informatica, etc.)
- Experience supporting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) transformations
- Experience supporting ServiceNow API development and integration
- Provided direct support to a Security Operation Center environment
- Familiarity with task automation
