Position Overview

As a Cardiac Imaging Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality clinical support and oversight, ensuring that our patients receive outstanding medical attention.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Cardiac Imaging Specialist, you will be expected to:

  • Deliver exceptional patient care as an Echo Technician, assisting with various cardiac procedures. You will be proficient in performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, as well as stress tests as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining procedures before and during examinations.
  • Gather relevant clinical histories and collaborate with referring physicians to determine the most suitable ultrasonic procedures.
  • Operate and calibrate echocardiography equipment, ensuring high diagnostic quality while visualizing and documenting cardiac structures.
  • Utilize additional devices, such as cameras and video recorders, to create permanent records of examinations.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working condition, identifying malfunctions and ensuring proper maintenance or reporting major repair needs.
  • Select appropriate tracings for Cardiologist interpretation, ensuring all measurements and calculations are accurate prior to submission.
  • Keep meticulous departmental records, including patient charts and statistical information.
  • Promptly notify Cardiologists of tests requiring interpretation, assisting in maintaining timely turnaround times.
  • Alert Cardiologists to any unusual or potentially abnormal tracings that may require immediate attention.
  • Employ critical thinking and judgment in assisting patients and executing procedures.
  • Be available for on-call duties as required for departmental coverage.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED, along with completion of an accredited echocardiography program.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) from the American Heart Association and one of the following national certifications: ARMDS (RDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
