Join Helena Public Schools as a dedicated member of our team and contribute to fostering dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a Level II/Behavioral Interventionist (Special Education) Para Educator, you will play a vital role in assisting students' daily training programs who require extra support. You will work collaboratively with a team of 150 professionals serving 8,000 students across 18 campuses in Helena. Your responsibilities will include:

* Applying your understanding of individual needs to assist special services students with learning assigned materials and instructional exercises that support the growth of the whole child.
* Tutoring special services students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
* Providing assistance with hygiene and feeding, escorting children to various rooms, and loading and unloading students on buses as needed.
* Assisting in maintaining appropriate documentation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A high school diploma or equivalent.
* Up to three months of related experience and/or training.
* Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the District.

The ideal candidate will possess an associate's degree (or equivalent education) and have experience working with disabled children. You will also need to be able to safely work with escalated students who may exhibit challenging behaviors during crisis intervention prevention. Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and/or push/pull up to 100 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

As a valued member of our team, you will receive a competitive salary range of $15.50 to $19.03 per hour, depending on education level and applicable relevant work experience. A comprehensive benefit package is also provided, including paid sick and vacation leave, 3 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, up to 13 school calendar-related paid days, paid retirement, and health benefits coverage, including during the summer break.
