Job Title: Academic Interventionist

At KIPP Delta Public Schools, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Academic Interventionist to join our team. As an Academic Interventionist, you will play a critical role in facilitating students' improvement in assigned subject(s) and increasing engagement through our blended learning programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage classroom behavior to create a productive learning environment
  • Provide academic intervention that is active, collaborative, and socially-centered, allowing young people to build skills through learning as a team
  • Create lesson plans based on student needs and program partnerships with parents, teachers, and other supportive services
  • Lead small-group tutoring, coaching, goal-setting, and academic case management to bridge gaps in students' understanding
  • Foster the joy of mastery through events or products to be viewed and celebrated by peers and family members
  • Expand horizons and facilitate learning that goes beyond the walls of site facilities, using the surrounding community as a classroom
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two or more years of reading intervention teaching experience
  • Certification in The Science of Reading and/or Orton Gillingham is highly desired
  • Arkansas teacher certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Commitment to the success of African American and underrepresented student populations
  • Demonstrated passion for the mission, vision, and values of KIPP Delta Public Schools
