Position Overview

Locations: Various Boys & Girls Clubs across the region.

The Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) is a dynamic organization dedicated to fostering the emotional, physical, and academic growth of young individuals. Since 1860, we have been committed to making a positive impact on youth development. At BGC of Manatee County, we serve with intention and a focus on purpose. Our clubs provide a range of services from literacy and technology education to sports, recreation, college readiness, and workforce preparation, all delivered by passionate professionals who are dedicated to their roles while creating an enjoyable atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement engaging and age-appropriate educational programming for youth in grades K-7 on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to a structured program schedule developed by the Academic Success Manager, tailored to the needs of club members.
  • Facilitate academic programs during designated times as outlined by the Club Director.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and partners alongside the Academic Success Manager to address the academic requirements of members.
  • Contribute to Club staff meetings by sharing innovative educational ideas and activities developed by the Academic Success Manager.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment Level 2 background check and drug screening.
  • This is a part-time position with preferred availability from Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 6 PM.
  • A valid teaching certificate is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience is necessary.
  • Proven experience in engaging with youth and their families.
  • Exemplary positive attitude, effective communication skills, and a collaborative style.
  • Strong emotional intelligence along with interpersonal and relational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet navigation.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification or the willingness to obtain these certifications.
  • Experience in youth development is preferred, along with a high level of energy, adaptability, and work ethic.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and daily responsibilities effectively.
